Melissa was born in Austin and grew up in Round Rock where she graduated from Stony Point High School in 2006. As she was raising her family, she spent time at Central Texas College and Texas Tech Highland Lakes, pursuant of a degree in education. In September of 2019, she began working as front-line staff at the Boys & Girls Club of Kingsland. It was there she found her calling and decided to go all in. In February of 2020 she became the Kingsland Club Director and in August of that year also began performing administrative duties as office assistant in the Highland Lakes corporate office. In September 2021 she became full-time Administrative Services Director. Just over a year later the Program & Operations Director position became available and Melissa was given the opportunity to step into that role. That is where she found her sweet spot helping the Club Directors grow as leaders and still getting to work with the kids. Melissa volunteers at her church as a leader in the children’s ministry on Wednesday nights. She enjoys reading, travelling and spending time with her two teenage sons Tristan and Jackson and her cat Jessie.
